An Isle of Man tour is a marvellously unique experience. A self-governing part of the British Isles with the oldest parliament in the world, the island has a history spanning a thousand years. More recently the Victorians developed the island and left a legacy that is readily apparent today in the unique steam and electric transport system – providing nostalgic journeys through some of the most amazing scenery imaginable.
Excursions
Day One – We take a leisurely drive for our ferry crossing from Heysham to Douglas.
Day Two – Travel by coach to Castletown and visit the House of Keys, an interactive retelling of the island’s government. Continue south passing Cregneash to the Sound with magnificent views of the Calf of Man. At Port Erin, we take a look around the Railway Museum before boarding the Steam Train back to Douglas.
Day Three – Today we take the Manx Electric Railway to the pretty town of Laxey, famous for the Great Laxey Wheel, and join the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a return journey to the summit. Free time in Peel, so many options here, you may choose to visit the House of Manannan, Peel Castle, or treat yourself to ice cream in the harbour. We return home via Tynwald Hill.
